This course is first and foremost about the ENJOYMENT of music.

Whether starting from scratch, or having some musical experience already, all levels of musical abilities are welcomed and catered for on this course. With a view to building self-confidence within each pupil, we start by having FUN with music.

At FOLKIST we believe that music is accessible to all. Studies have shown that children still in the womb are receptive and react to music. It is said that music is an international language and is often the first language that we learn! Therefore comments such as 'I have no musical ability' are disallowed on this course!

BOUND INTO SOUND is a gentle, yet fun exploration of all aspects of music and pupils learn both for EXPRESSION and for COMMUNICATION. The course provides the springboard to experiment with a range of melodic and percussion instruments, play with sounds and make music in a safe environment, thereby developing good solid foundations in all aspects of music for future music learning. It is therefore particularly suitable to children who have had little or no music training but who enjoy making and listening to music and would like to master one instrument but do not yet know which instrument to choose.

BOUND INTO SOUND has been developed especially for children by Karen Jones; a qualified teacher whose research and practical working experience has led to the designing of successful education programmes.
