Ah, the guitar!
Partly melodic and partly rhythmic, it’s got the appeal. Great for those campfire nights, welcome at any social gathering, a lovely accompaniment for singing along to, fun with other musicians, or just strumming your favourite songs and tunes, portable and a beautiful sound.
It’s really not difficult to learn! Once motivated, the rest is easy. So, our first focus of the Guitar Club is to keep motivated. Come on! Let’s have some fun!
Guitarists need to have excellent listening skills. We need to be able to play by ear. So this course also focuses on these two aspects:
 |
The actual technique of playing, right from keeping good posture, to keeping good rhythm … and ... |
 |
developing the ear, or listening skills. |
Confidence is another major factor, so a relaxed atmosphere, ‘practice’ and informal performances, with a bit of fun thrown in for good measure has proven to be the right recipe for success!
We also make opportunities for visits from some fabulous guitarists and songwriters!
Group sizes are kept small so each pupil’s progress can be closely monitored. More details about this course are listed on the right. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Centre by phone. |

The current registration fee is displayed on our fees page; fees are payable at the start of each term.
