Our students have two opportunities to perform usually at our Christmas and Summer concerts. Playing before an audience gives the child enormous confidence. They can show off what they have been working on. Parents and friends can hear and see the progress being made. After these concerts there is plenty time to chat and often during this relaxed gathering the kids are complimented on their playing by appreciative audience members. Some students have performed outwith the Children's Music Centre, notably the Hounz of Sounz who have played at the Dunbar Youth Festival and busked on the Royal Mile during the Edinburgh Festival amongst other things! Performance is an important part of music and can be an enriching experience for the student. |
